Thoughts on Lammas

From a Pagan Book of Prayer:
The door is starting to swing from hot to cold. Although it is still summer, occasionally a cool day comes. The pokeberries are purple, the sasafras is starting to turn, and the gardens are heavy with tomatoes. It is time to stop and pay attention: the spirits of the land are very busy. I pray to them at this liminal time to open my eyes. Don't let me wake one day and ask where summer has gone. May I be aware of its going, and be as thrilled with it as I was with the arrival of spring.

I am spending this Lammas with family, friends, and loved ones in person and in spirit. We will be feasting, crafting and doing some rituals to celebrate this blessed day. Merry Meet, Merry Part and Merry Meet Again. So Mote It Be.
