This spell will create a fountain of wealth to pour out more money for your family. The best money jars are the ones that have been passed down from mother to daughter, but since not everyone is lucky enough to have one passed down you can learn how to make your own to start a trend of family riches! This spell takes time to get started, but only gets more powerful as time goes on. So be patient and let it build with time.
Magical Tools
• Quart-Sized Mason Jar
• Gold spray paint
• Green Ribbon
• Thin silver chain
• Mint, Basil and Fenugreek
• Money Oil
Magical Spell
Use spray paint to paint the inside of the jar completely gold. To get the smoothest finish, paint in several thin layers allowing the paint to dry between layers. The jar should be beautiful and inspiring.
Rub the jar all over the outside with the mint, basil and fenugreek. Place dried mint, basil and fenugreek inside the jar. Dress the outside of the jar with money oil.
Tie green ribbon and silver chain around the rim of the jar.
Every full moon place 3 silver coins in the jar. If there is a blue moon (a second full moon in the same month as another) this is a particularly good omen, and you should put 2 extra silver coins in the jar. If you don't have silver coins then use the largest coin in your national currency.
When the jar is full, put half the money in a bank account that you have set aside as a special fund, and distribute the other half of the money to a charity of your choice. When the jar is empty, immediately put three new coins and more basil, mint and fenugreek in the jar.
To pass the jar on to your child, wait until the jar is halfway full and give it to them on the night of the full moon. You should place one coin in the jar, and have your child place two coins in.
DO NOT RAID the jar before it is full. Doing so will weaken the magic and eventually make it ineffective

Tiger Eye Bill Banishing Charm
If expensive bills are making it impossible to save up money or put anything away for an emergency or special treat, use this talismanic spell to put a stop to all those money drains. Tiger's eye is a gemstone that is known to be a powerful attractant for wealth, and when used in this spell it will put an end to wasteful spending that is keeping you down.
Magical Tools
• Tiger's eye stone
Magical Spell
Before beginning any spellwork, attune the tiger's eye stone so that it will work extra hard to protect your financial health. Place the stone in a bowl of water that has absorbed moon beams for a week, and then sleep with it under your pillow until you have a dream of financial success. The stone is now ready.
Whenever you pay a bill or write an expensive check, rub the paper with the tiger's eye and visualize it erasing any debts that you owe to that lender. See your balance due in their ledger book dwindle quickly down to nothing.
Whenever you receive a payment or gift of money, rub the paper with the stone and visualize your bank statement with more in it than you expect.
When your good fortune has gotten to the point that you can no longer ignore the impact that the stone has had in your life, thank it. Then give the stone to another person that is having money difficulties. Explain to them how the stone works and bless them as you have been blessed.

Avocado Prosperity Charm
Avocados, with their rich green flesh, represent lasting wealth. Use this charm to make sure that you are always with plenty of financial resources. If you ever experience a sudden change in fortune, such as losing or starting a new job, a serious illness, or some other major event then you should recharge this charm and that will help ensure that even if there is short term calamity—your luck will turn for the better in the long run.
Magical Tools
• Avocado
• Salt
• Olive Oil
• Gold Paint
• Green Ribbon
Magical Spell
Eat an Avocado with salt and olive oil, two other potent symbols of wealth. Do not eat anything else with the avocado and make sure that you eat it on an empty stomach. Allow yourself to feel the richness and flavor filling your body as you swallow and savor the avocado.
Save the pit and set it aside where it will be able to dry out. When it is completely dry, paint the pit in the brightest gold paint that you have. Paint several coats until it looks like a golden egg (perhaps this is where the legend comes from?)
Attach the green ribbon to the pit using glue or tying it on. Do not drill holes or chip any part of the pit away: the pit is your nest egg, do not ever do anything to decrease it.
Using the ribbon hang the pit in a northern facing window.
To recharge the charm, just apply a fresh coat of gold paint and sleep with the pit under your pillow until you have a dream of new wealth and prosperity coming your way.

Ritual to Refresh Your Spirit for the New Year
This is not for making new years resolutions which are usually broken by most
people. Instead this is to inspire New Spirit for the New Year. It is to purify
and to refresh your spirit. It should be performed in the morning and then again
in the evening. It should also be done outside, but if this is not possible then
inside.
In the morning go outside and immerse your hands in the snow( if performing
inside then immerse in a bowl or basin of chilled water) until they are chilled
through, then anoint your brow and say...
"substance wasted, substance spoiled,
now be redeemed.
Seeing thyself in substance undefiled,
forming thyself a new from this frail substance
gathered and revived."
Repeat in the evening

A Couple of New Year's Eve Spells
1
This year, try writing your New Years resolutions in dragons blood ink on a square piece of parchment paper. This ink is traditionally used for spells involving strength and power. Then, upon the paper sprinkle a bit of dried mug wort, and roll it into a tube and secure it in the center with a red ribbon. Anoint a new white candle with bergamot oil as you state your resolutions aloud. Light the candle and then use its flame to set fire to the rolled-up parchment. Cast the parchment into a small cast iron cauldron (or other fireproof container) and recite three times the following incantation: "To the flames my words are spoken as the newborn year unfolds. Resolutions be not broken, promises be upheld.
2
To ensure that your life is blessed with good luck through the next twelve months, perform this simple spell at midnight on New Year's Eve. First, open every door and window of your house to allow the spirit of the old year to depart. Go outside and light a green candle that has been anointed with a few drops of cinnamon, cypress, or lotus oil, and, without uttering a single word, reenter your house through the back door. Walk through every room with the candle in your hand, go back outside through the front door then in again by the back. Additionally, you may place a silver coin, a piece of coal, and a piece of bread on a windowsill or porch at midnight on New Year's Eve, and then bring them into the house after you rise from bed on New Year's morning.

A Winter Prayer
See the gray skies overhead, preparing the way
for the darkness soon to come.
See the gray skies overhead, preparing the way,
for the world to go cold and lifeless.
See the gray skies overhead, preparing the way
for the longest night of the year.
See the gray skies overhead, preparing the way
for the sun to one day return,
bringing with it light.

Prayer to the Winter Goddess
O! Mighty goddess, in silvery ice,
watching over us as we sleep,
a layer of shining white,
covering the earth each night,
frost on the world and in the soul,
we thank you for visiting us.
Because of you, we seek warmth
in the comfort of our homes and hearths.

Calling Your Soul Mate
This spell is intended to draw a partner who is best suited to you at this time in your life, or one who is "meant" for you. It is supposedly "fail-safe", but remember, you must take responsibility for any results and consequences.
Components Needed:
A clear mind and focused goal
Special paper, such as hemp, cotton, real parchment, whatever you deem special
A ritual writing instrument (the pen is mightier than the Athame) such as quill, fountain pen, favorite ball-point, etc. In whatever color ink desired.
Moon Incense
Charcoal or a small ritual fire
Timing: any time, preferably after dark during the waxing moon. The timing is more flexible with this working for many reasons; the nature of the work, and the full moon energy contained in the moon incense which is an incense of Increase or drawing.
Reinforce your personal circle/aura and prepare for workings in your usual manner. Using the ritual pen and special paper, write words of power that will call the most perfect partner to you at this time. Do not include specific names, and avoid thinking of a specific person. If you can't find quite the right words, use the following:
If there be a perfect match,
this work tonight will surely catch.
the perfect one who is meant to be,
shall find His/Her way home to me.
In perfect love and perfect trust,
I send this out, but not from lust,
This spell will guide us to unite,
free will remains with us tonight.
When you are finished, read over what you wrote and confirm that everything you want to say is included. When you are certain it is as you wish, spend some time meditating on your goal while you light your ritual fire or the charcoal. When you get "that feeling" (the one when you know everything is right, your will is focused, you know it is certain, you know the feeling...) prepare to begin the physical aspect of the ritual. When the fire has become coals, or the charcoal is glowing happily, read aloud your writing, repeating it 3 times. As you read, or as you come to the end of each repetition, sprinkle a small handful (about a tablespoon) of the Moon Incense on the fire. You will want to be practiced at this for the best effect as well as safety, so make up a full recipe of it and accustom yourself to its nature prior to the rite.
Fold the paper and keep it near you for three days. Keep it under your pillow, mattress, or pinned to your night clothes (if you aren't sky/star clad) while you sleep. After three days, light another ritual fire, repeat the Circle of Power/Protection, reading and incense procedure and this time, burn the paper when you are done. OR you can keep the paper in a special spell box if you use this method. Many witches have special containers to keep finished workings in. These are usually decorative and personalized with engravings or painting on them that echo their contents. For example, a heart shaped heartwood box with runes and magickal symbols of love on it for this spell. Usually only similar spells are kept together, or each spell is kept in its own box.

An Interesting Money Spell
Found this spell for money and was intrigued by the inclusion of using a strand of your own hair. Think I may give it a try.
Items you will need
1 Green candle (for earth and money)
1 White candle (for purity and spiritual)
1 red candle (for fire)
1 Blue candle (for water)
1 Gold candle (or yellow for air)
A piece of your hair (or anything that comes off your body easily)
a cloth bag
An altar
A belief in magic
A voice
A good memory (to remember the spell without the paper or book you read it off of
Take the candles and light them and put them in a circle on your altar. Put the white at the top, and the other colors anywhere. Take your hair (or other thing)and put it in the middle. Take your cloth bag and put it in the middle also. Make sure to remember the spell because you have to concentrate on the candles and not the book or paper you read the spell off of.
Pick your hair up (or other thing)and stare into the green candle and say:
With this one strand of hair,
I will get wealthy because it's fair,
I invoke the spirits and want to say,
I need money, O I need it today.
The next time you say it, stare at the white candle, then the blue, then the red, then the gold/yellow.
Then after you're done doing that, take the bag and put the strand of hair in it. Then finish off the spell by saying:
I will be wealthy,
I will be healthy,
With this strand of hair,
I will get my money,
And it will be fair.
Carry the strand of hair with you always. Blessed Be!!!

Wish Spell
Here is another spell I am considering for a Yule activity for myself and guests. Again simple but one you need to think on deeply to be clear on the admonition to 'be careful what you wish for'
Wish Spell
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This spell has been used many times and the wished things have happened
usually in a short time.
-Needed Supplies-
*1 sheet of quality paper/parchment
*a pen/pencil used in magickal works
*candles (usually white, can change depending on your wish)
Do a relaxation ritual before this and clear your mind well. Concentrate on
the spell not the joy afterwards.
Take the paper/parchment and draw a pentagram in the middle of it. Then draw
a ying-yang symbol in the middle of it. Now write down your wish on the top
of the sheet. Write your wish such as ''make me get rich, make my
mother/friend etc. get healed, make me get 'the thing you want''...
Then fold the sheet 2-3 times and seal it with your candle. Then burn it with
the fire of candle you sealed it. While it turns into ashes, repeat your wish
inside yourself or out loud. When it's all ash, sprinkle the ashes from a
window or such.
'Be careful what you wish for, it can come in any way'
This Spell is by... "Nunna Bussiness"
Here is an alternative to the above spell that I also found and liked.
Write your name and date of birth on a piece of paper, followed by your wish.
End it with this:
'While many without faith may dismiss
I promise I will always believe in this wish
And in the things I am yet to learn
So grant me this wish I soulfully yearn'
Fold the paper 3 times.
Now light the candle and burn the paper whilst repeating the phrase above.
Move the candle to somewhere safe and let it burn out.
NOTE:
It might a bit of time for the wish to happen, but it will, unless what you wished for wasn't white magic or unless the spirits saw it wasn't what you needed, although this happens very rarely.

Attracting the Perfect Partner
Found these tips at Everything Under the Moon and thought they were fun, interesting and easy enough to do in the pursuit of finding and drawing to yourself that special person for you.
1. Create a clear picture in your mind of your perfect partner. These vibrations can attract your imaginary man or woman into your life.
2. Make a relationship collage with pictures of things that are important to you.
3. Be specific when you visualize the environment and your future together.
4. Put it in writing. Make a list of your needs and wants in a satisfying relationship.
5. Place the list where you can see it often. The more time and energy you devote to it, the closer the reality becomes.
6. Focus on the list and verbalize it. Repeat it aloud for even greater impact. There's nothing like the power of the spoken word!

Enlightenment
I am looking for some spells to do on Yule to make use of the soltice and the full lunar eclipse. This is one I am considering. I could use some enlightenment and I like that this one is simple in materials but deep in meaning.
Enlightenment....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This spell requires two blue candles and one candle to portray yourself, and sandalwood oil.
Anoint candles with the oil and visualize yourself being translike state. place blue candles on either side of the chosen candle, light the blue candles and say unto thyself:
-Spirit guides/ higher self hear my plea
-Come now and converse with me
-Walk me and guide me through this veil trance, I ask of you
Now sit in a comfortable position and become aware of your breathing patterns. Inhale deeply, exhale deeply, listen to rhythmic body and breathing motions. become relaxed and close your eyes. Focus on your third eye and visualize red, orange, yellow, green, blue, blue, indigo, purple, and white in order. Hold each color for a count of five. Watch as it fades into each color, still focusing on third eye. Watch your breath and see your chest rise and fall with with air (eyes still closed) and watch your breath as it as it changes into waves. Now visualize a door on water. Visualize yourself go in and visit with your spirit guide and ask questions. trust the answers you receive. Walk out the door, watch the waves turn back into breathing patterns. now open your eyes and say to yourself:
-I return to earth again
-Thank you spirit self and friends
Then blow out the candles in reverse order, first your chosen candle and then the blue candles.
This spell is very good to do before trying other in-depth spells.

Colour and Candle Magick
Candle Magic Sorita
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From above to below
Flows the pattern of perfection
From desire to manifestation
Flows the pattern of Magick
From within to without
Flows the pattern of my will
Candle magick is probably one of the simplest forms of magick to get started with. You need nothing but the candle and fire to light it with. Candle magick can also be seen to be complete within itself, as the body of the candle is made up from the elements of Earth, Air and Water. To complete you need fire and spirit. Fire is easy, and Spirit can be represented by the wick of the candle, as the wick is where the potential of the candle lies and will be unfolded with. With the candle lit, the flame of your intent will burn.
CANDLE MAGIC have been used for centuries for magick and ritual. We light candles at holidays, a practice that takes place in many different religions, cultures and traditions. Candles invoke the divine, they create a sense of ceremony and they are facinating to look at. Candles can be purchased anywhere, by anyone without anyone blinking an eye or suspecting magick and witchcraft!
Through their ability to help you to focus on your wishes they make your heart's desire come true. Try it next time you want to make something happen in your life! Below is a few simple guidelines for using candles in magick!
Unwittingly you probably performed your first act of Candle Magick when you where very young on your birthday, blowing out the candles on your cake and making a wish!
This tradition is based on the three principals of magick; being concentration, will power and visualization. You have to concentrate to blow the candles out, wish and see your dream coming true - absolute magick!
Important pointers on choosing a candle:
1.Choose a plain candle, of uniform shape. Having unusual or large candles can be distracting and is therefore not suitable for magickal use.
2.Candles used for magick should always be Virgin (unused) at the start of the ritual. Using secondhand candles or other materials in magick can have disastrous effects as they might have picked up vibrations from previous use, even if it was just on a dinner table!
3.It is a very good idea to make your own candles if they are for magickal use. It will increase the magickal potency of the candle many times.
4.It is very easy to make your own candles, simply heat the wax until liquid and pour it into a mould which is treaded with a wick. The wax should now be left to cool, after which the mould can be removed. Oils and colours can be added to the Wax for extra effects.
5.Charge your candle before using it in ritual. This can be done by annointing it with oils associated with the ritual or magick you intend on performing, or by simply touching it and charging it with your own energy.
6.Whilst charging the candle, visualixe the North and South Poles - rub the oil into the candle starting at either the North or South end and always brush in the same direction.
7.The oils used in the annointing of your candle should where possible always be natural fragrances.
8.Try to colour the candles according the the colour associations below.
Astrological Associations for Candle Magick
•Aries -Red
•Taurus- Green
•Gemini -Yellow
•Cancer- Silver
•Leo -Orange
•Virgo -Yellow
•Libra -Pink
•Scorpio- Red
•Sagitarius -Purple
•Capricorn -Black
•Aquarius- Any Colour
•Pisces -Mauve
An absent coven member can be represented by a candle representing their sunsign, or if you are doing a spell for someone you can represent that person with a candle representing their sunsign.
Colours for magickal purposes
White - Can be used for any purpose
Black - Attributed to Saturn. Saturn is used for retribution and when we have been wronged - revenge. Be careful, you may feel that you need to punish someone at once with a Hex and make them suffer! That is real power yeah?
Wrong!
Remember the laws of return, and avoid this temptation! This is most probably why Saturn is the teacher.
Black candles is used for Discord, protection from retribution, power, strengh, banishing rituals and protection.
Blue - Peace and Harmony, protection, healing, curing fevers, re-uniting friendships, house blessings, breaking bad habits, overcoming addiction, clearing atmosphere where there are arguments or trauma.
Brown - Used for the Physical Planes, as a combination of the colours Green and Red, Mars and Venus blended together as one. It is often used to seperate, and also for grounding and stabilizing.
Brown is ruled by Pluto, the Lord of the Outer Spaces and The Dead.
In Candle Magick, Brown is used for spells involving: Concentration, balance, ESP, intuition, study, justice and seperation.
Gold or light Yellow - This colour attracts Cosmic influences and is beneficial used in rituals intended to bring fast luck and money. It is also used in rituals needing solar energy.
General uses in Candle Magick would include:
•Fortune
•Understanding
•Divination
•Financial gain
•Higher influences.
Green Venus.- Venus rules on an earthy level, and green can attract all the things ruled by Venus. Treasure, antiques, worldly possesions. Green is often used in conjunction with orange, Mercury candle - used to clear obstacles in the way of revealing hidden treasure.
In Candle Magick green is used for fertility, good fortune, generosity, money, wealth, success, renewal, marriage, healing cancer and helping with female problems.
Indigo - This is used in meditation and ritual which demands the energy of Saturn, such as deep meditation, balancing Karma, stopping gossip and astral projection.
Magenta - This has a very high vibrational frequency and tends to work very fast. It is often used with other candles. General uses involve - quick changes, spirtitual healing and exorcism.
Orange Communication - Orange is ruled by Mercury, the divine messenger of the Gods. Orange works well when two people wish to have their telepathic senses opened together. Remember that Mercury is a trickster and when using this to "invade" another person, the trick could be on you!
This is excellent for job hunting, success, encouragement, adaptability, stimulation, attraction, sudden change, control, power to draw the good things in life and to change luck.
Pink - Pink is THE romantic colour, indicating love, affection, romance, spiritual awakening, healing of spirits and togetherness.
Purple - Used to gain honor, respect and recognition of others.

Song For Yule
Yule Songs
OH, COME, ALL YE FAITHFUL!
-Ellen Reed
Oh, come all ye faithful
Gather round the Yule Fire
Oh, come ye, oh, come ye,
To call the Sun!
Fires within us
Call the Fire above us
O, come, let us invoke Him!
O, come, let us invoke Him!
O, come, let us invoke Him!
Our Lord, the Sun!
Yea, Lord, we greet Thee!
Born again at Yuletide!
Yule fires and candle flames
Are lighted for You!
Come to thy children
Calling for thy blessing!
O, come let us invoke Him (x3)
Our Lord, the Sun!
SILENT NIGHT
-Ellen Reed
Silent night, Solstice Night
All is calm, all is bright
Nature slumbers in forest and glen
Till in Springtime She wakens again
Sleeping spirits grow strong!
Sleeping spirits grow strong!
Silent night, Solstice night
Silver moon shining bright
Snowfall blankets the slumbering Earth
Yule fireswelcome the Sun's rebirth
Hark, the Light is reborn!
Hark, the Light is reborn!
Silent night, Solstice night
Quiet rest till the Light
Turning ever the rolling Wheel
Brings the Winter to comfort and heal
Rest your spirit in peace!
Rest your spirit in peace!
GLORY TO THE NEW BORN KING
-Ellen Reed (1st verse)
Brothers, sisters, come to sing
Glory to the new-born King!
Gardens peaceful, forests wild
Celebrate the Winter Child!
Now the time of glowing starts!
Joyful hands and joyful hearts!
Cheer the Yule log as it burns!
For once again the Sun returns!
Brothers, sisters, come and sing!
Glory to the new-born King!
Brothers, sisters, singing come
Glory to the newborn Sun
Through the wind and dark of night
Celebrate the coming light.
Suns glad rays through fear's cold burns
Life through death the Wheel now turns
Gather round the Yule log and tree
Celebrate Life's mystery
Brothers, sisters, singing come
Glory to the new-born Sun.
YE CHILDREN ALL OF MOTHER EARTH
-Ellen Reed
( Tune: "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear")
Ye children all of Mother Earth
join hands and circle around
To celebrate the Solstice night
When our lost Lord is found.
Rejoice, the year has begun again
The Sun blesses skies up above
So share the season together now
In everlasting Love!
GLORIA
-Ellen Reed
Snow lies deep upon the Earth
Still our voices warmly sing
Heralding the glorious birth
Of the Child, the Winter King
Glo -- ria!
In excelsis Deo!
Glo -- ria!
In excelsis Dea!
Our triumphant voices claim
Joy and hope and love renewed
And our Lady's glad refrain
Answer Winter's solitude
Glo -- ria!(etc.)
In Her arms a holy Child
Promises a glowing Light
Through the winter wind so wild
He proclaims the growing Light.
Glo -- ria! (etc..)
Now the turning of the year
Of the greater Turning sings
Passing age of cold and fear
Soon our golden summer brings.
Glo -- ria! (etc..)
HARK THE NEO-PAGANS SING
-"Sunblade"
(Tune: "Hark the Herald Angels Sing")
Hark the neo-Pagans sing,
Glory to the Holly King!
Peace on Earth and mercy mild,
God and Goddess reconciled,
Hear us now as we proclaim:
We have risen from the flames!
Our ancient Craft now we reclaim,
In the God and Goddess' names
Hark the neo-Pagans sing,
Glory to the Holly King!
Herne by highest love adored,
Herne the ever-reborn Lord,
At all times behold Him come,
Offspring of the Holy One,
Veiled in flesh, the Godhead see,
Hail Incarnate Deity!
Our ancient Craft now we reclaim,
in the God and Goddess' names
Hark the neo-Pagans sing,
Glory to the Holly King!

Charge of the Dark Goddess
Tomorrow Nov. 16 is the Night of Hecate. In honor of that I am posting some variations on "The Charge of the Dark Goddess". I will be leaving my Hecate Supper for her at the crossroads along with my prayers and petitions. May the Goddess Bless and Keep You. So mote it be.
The Charge of the Dark Goddess
By Lynne O'Connor
The Dark Goddess speaks to us, through the mouths of Lilith, Kali, Tiamet, Hekate, Nix, the Black Madonna, Nemesis and Morgane.
I am the Darkness behind and beneath the shadows.
I am the absence of air that awaits at the bottom of every breath.
I am the Ending before Life begins again,
the Decay that fertilizes the Living.
I am the Bottomless Pit,
the never-ending struggle to reclaim that which is denied.
I am the Key that unlocks every Door.
I am the Glory of Discovery,
for I am that which is hidden, secluded and forbidden.
Come to me at the Dark Moon
and see that which can not be seen,
face the terror that is yours alone.
Swim to me through the blackest oceans
to the center of your greatest fears--
the Dark God and I will keep you safe.
Scream to us in terror, and yours will be the Power to Forbear.
Think of me when you feel pleasure, and I will intensify it,
until the time when I may have the greatest pleasure
of meeting you at the Crossroads Between the Worlds.
The Charge of the Dark Goddess II
Wisdom and empowerment are the gifts of the Dark Goddess of Transformation. She is known to us as Kali, Hecate, Cerridwen, Lilith, Persephone, Fata, Morgana, Ereshkigal, Arianhrod, Durga, Inanna, Tiamat, and by a million, million other names:
Hear me child, and know Me for who I am. I have been with you since you were born, and I will stay with you until you return to Me at the final dusk.
I am the passionate and seductive lover who inspires the poet to dream. I am the One who calls to you at the end of your journey. After the day is done, My children find their blessed rest in my embrace.
I am the womb from which all things are born.
I am the shadowy, still tomb; all things must come to Me and bare their breasts to die and be reborn to the Whole.
I am the Sorceress that will not be ruled, the Weaver of Time, the Teacher of Mysteries. I snip the threads that bring my children home to me. I slit the throats of the cruel and drink the blood of the heartless. Swallow your fear and come to me, and you will discover true beauty, strength, and courage.
I am the fury which rips the flesh from injustice.
I am the glowing forge that transforms your inner demons into tools of power. Open yourself to my embrace and overcome.
I am the glinting sword that protects you from harm.
I am the crucible in which all the aspects of yourself merge together in a rainbow of union.
I am the velvet depths of the night sky, the swirling mists of midnight, shrouded in mystery.
I am the chrysalis in which you will face that which terrifies you and from which you will blossom forth, vibrant and renewed. Seek me at the crossroads, and you shall be transformed, for once you look upon my face, there is no return.
I am the fire that kisses the shackles away.
I am the cauldron in which all opposites grow to know each other in Truth.
I am the web which connects all things.
I am the Healer of all wounds, the Warrior who rights all wrongs in their Time. I make the weak strong. I make the arrogant humble. I raise up the oppressed and empower the disenfranchised. I am Justice tempered with Mercy.
Most importantly, child, I am you. I am part of you, and I am within you. Seek me within and without, and you will be strong. Know me. Venture into the dark so that you may awaken to Balance, Illumination, and Wholeness. Take my Love with you everywhere and find the Power within to be who you wish.
The Charge of the Dark Goddess III
Listen to the words of the Dark Mother, who of old was called Hecate, Nuit, Morrigan, Banba, Erda, Macha, MotherNight, Sekhmet, and many other names:
Whenever you seek wisdom, at the time of the Darkening Moon, come together in love and trust and learn of Me, who am the Wisest of Crones...Ye who search the mysteries of the Earth, the secrets of Air and Darkness, of Blood and Fire, the silence of the uttermost stars, come unto me, and I shall whisper to you in the depths of midnight.
Ye shall approach Me in silence, and as a sign that ye are free from fear, your breast you shall bare to My blade...for fear has no place in My mysteries, and that which you seek of me will destroy you if you fear it.
For I am the dolmen arch beyond which stretch the mysteries of infinity. I am the silence before birth and after death. I am the clouded mirror in which you scry your own soul. I am mist in the twilight, the vast and starry sky of midnight, shadows on the Moon.
All things come to Me in the end, and yet I am the beginning of all. I meet you at the crossroads, I lead you through the darkness, My hand you grasp in the passage between the worlds. To those that toy with Me am I an instrument of self-destruction. yet to the true seeker do I bring knowledge beyond mortal comprehension.
Of you shall I demand the utter truth of all that you are, and in return shall I give you all that you may be, all that I am. For My wisdom is beyond the Ages, and knowledge of My Secrets is power over self, over fear, over death. Nor do I demand aught of you which you cannot give. For I am the Mother of Mysteries, and as you know Me, so shall you learn to know yourself.
I found these a Angelfire.com. I am very familiar with the second one as I read it and meditate on it every day, at least once a day. There is always something to be found. I hope you enjoy these.

RageReleasing Ritual
I really like this ritual. Have not done it yet but plan on doing it for Saturday's New Moon. Don't know who came up with this but I give thanks for them and the work they have done. Will let you all know how it goes.
Most forms of abuse result in powerful feelings of anger or rage, which must be expressed in a safe, positive fashion if it is not to either destroy you or others. I'd like to present an alternate method of dealing with the anger through a ritual--allowing you to purge the energy safely and then let it go.
For this ritual, you will need some quiet time, a red candle, a black or a white candle, paper and writing implements, a container in which to burn paper, and matches. Any other symbols, magickal gear, or accoutrements you wish to bring to the ritual are yours to choose; I'm just presenting the bare bones.
Once you have gathered your stuff and set up your quiet space, you will want to call in a circle to protect yourself, and to protect others from the energies you plan to release.
Face the east, and call upon the air to help you express your rage clearly, to help you focus mentally while you release your emotions safely within the circle.
Face the south, and call upon fire to help your rage burn up and out of you, burning away the past and the trauma that has enraged you.
Face the west, and call upon the water to help your emotions flow freely within the circle, cleansing your spirit and restoring yourself.
Face the north, and call upon the earth to allow you to safely ground your rage, and to sustain and support your through the releasing process. As you call in the directions, visualize a circle of white light forming around your working space, shielding you and protecting you with the elements you've called in.
(I have sometimes found that it also helps to call upon the archangels to further strengthen the circle--Raphael for east, Michael for south, Gabriel for west, and Uriel for north--if your beliefs trend that way.)
Then when you feel the circle is secure, call upon the Higher Powers in whatever form you relate to them to work with you and shield you through the course of the ritual.
Now, light the red candle. By its light, begin to write or draw what it is that is enraging you, whether it be some form of emotional abuse that trashed your worth as a person, sexual abuse that made you into an object, physical abuse that broke your body's connection with your mind, or whatever. Focus on making the issues clear to yourself and the Higher Powers that you've called in. Focus on how the actions made *you* feel, not on the other person's guilt or motivations, or on revenge on the other person. (You can do this part ahead of time, if you want. I wrote a long letter to my mother explaining exactly what I remembered and felt out of our abusive relationship, being careful to keep it in "I-statements" and not start blaming her. Blame may be necessary for some folks, but until you release the rage within, I feel that you cannot assess blame rationally and safely.)
Next, hold the paper between your hands, focus your awareness on the red candle, and begin to chant, shout, scream, or make whatever sounds help you to feel the rage come up and leave you. Send the rage into the red candle. Focus your rage on the red candle, watching the flames burn brighter and hotter as the force of your anger fuels them. When you feel that you've released the red rage as much as you can, light the papers on which you've drawn or written your problem and drop them into the container so they can burn out. (Do remember to put something under the container to protect the surface it rests on--we did this ritual as a group a couple of years ago and caught the carpet on fire.)
After the papers have begun to burn down, light the black or white candle. (The choice of color depends on how you wish to focus on restoring yourself--black represents the energy of transformation and white represents an energy of peace and purification.) Focus on what you'd like to replace the rage with--peace, self-esteem, happiness, or whatever. Let the energy of the new emotions fill you up. Write or draw on a new piece of paper those things that you want to find in yourself and your life now that you've released the poisonous rage that was holding you back. You could even take the ashes from the burnt paper and write the name of the emotion on a new piece of paper to help you focus. Feel the healing begin.
When you are comfortably calm again, release the energy of the circle. Visualize it sinking back into the earth as you thank the elements at each direction for watching over you. Thank the Higher Powers for their insight and help. Let the candles burn completely out.
May you find this ritual to be as healing for you as I found it to be, if anything bad happened to you in childhood or since like rape or abuse etc it is NOT your fault so do not let your abuser win. Let go of it and move on -get counseling if it will help. This ritual can also help those locked in feelings. You might want to add some of your own words..

Intense but simple banishing spell
1) Do this when the moon is wanning, or if you want it gone
*now* do it on the dark of the moon.
2) Use an object to a focus of what you wish to banish, and
destroy the object in the ritual (ripping and chewing it to
bits works well for some folks, burning it works for
others).
3) Try some Datura leaves in incense as you work; it is
great for banishings. Asafoedita herb also works, but it
will also likely banish *you* (it smells incredibly vile and
induces nausea in most folks). Hope this helps.
Example: I was having trouble finding romance, so a did a
ritual where I took a piece of black cord, and symbolically
made it the focus for all the forces, internal and external,
which were keeping me from finding romance. I annointed it
with my blood, saliva and semen. I then ripped and chewed
the cord to bits, and burned the remains. I summoned up all
of my anger about my lack of romance and focused it into the
ritual. The ritual worked, a bit *too* well at first, but
it worked.
So I am not sure who wrote this spell, but again I thank them for their work and for sharing it with us. Have not done this but again am thinking of using it for New Moon this Saturday. Gonna do it at the cemetary so I can leave the Asafoedita outside and away from my own home. Since I have problems with screaming, can't do it, am really hoping to get some crap out of me. Will keep you all posted.

Money Mojo Bag
This very basic money-attraction bag works on the theory that like attracts like -- to put it simply, money attracts more money. Feel free to change the wording of the spell to suit your own needs if necessary. You will need the following items:
•A silver candle and a gold candle
•A small cloth pouch with a drawstring
•A handful of play money (like Monopoly) of different denominations
•A taglock for yourself (hair, nail clippings, etc)
•Ginger (for power and success)
•Nutmeg (for prosperity)
Prepare your workspace as you normally do - if you wish to cast a circle, go ahead. Light the two candles on either side of your space, so that you are working between them. As you light them say:
"Gold and silver, silver and gold, make money come and dollars unfold."
Place your play money and the taglock into the bag. As you do this, think about yourself and the money being together. You might even rub the taglock and the money against each other as you place them in the mojo bag. Say:
"Cast from necessity, not from greed, all I'm asking is for what I need."
Place the ginger and the nutmeg in the bag, and focus on success and prosperity coming your way. Hold the bag in your hands and say:
"Tens and twenties, fives and ones, as I will, it shall be done."
Now, take a moment to think about what you will do with the money that comes your way. Will you use it to get out debt? Pay a bill? Have a little bit of extra grocery money? Allow the candles to burn out on their own. Place the bag in a safe place where it will be undisturbed, and out of sight. Results from this one seem to come in very odd ways, but so far it has worked every time for me.

A Ritual for Samhain
So today for Samhain I did a simple ritual of my own devising. Was two parts to it. One I did in the daytime and one at night.
For the daytime piece I light 3 white candles and some clove incense. I asked the Goddess to be with me in drawing more positive things into my life. On leaves I had picked up from the ground I wrote statements like " I deserve requited love", " I deserve a house I love, which is mine for as long as I choose to live there" etc...
After writing out all those statements that came to mind I walked down to a nearby stream again asking the Goddess to be with me I tossed the leaves into the stream to be carried out to the world. The water representing to me the womb, nourishing, vital etc....
For the nighttime I used one black candle upon which I inscribed words like negativity, doubt, despair, etc...all the negative emotions I have been feeling. Again I asked the Goddess to be with me in releasing these thoughts, feelings and insecurities. I wrote on leaves again but this time statements like "I release all negativity", "I release self-doubt" etc... After writing out all statements like this that occurred to me I walked to cemetery, again I invoked the Goddess but this time asking for a sign that she had heard my petitions. I asked for a specific sign and I received it. I then buried the leaves in the cemetery, asking that the emotions, like the leaves be recycled into positive things for myself and the mother earth. So Mote It Be.
I felt lighter upon leaving the cemetery, like a weight had been lifted off my chest. I give thanks to the Goddess for her many gifts.

New Moon Ritual for Change
Special tools: cedar or sage smudging wand, white candle, bell
Cast the circle
Use the smudging wand to purify the space as you move around the circle.
Invocation to the Goddess:
(ring bell with arms in Goddess position, arms in a V above your head)
Great Hecate
Queen of the Underworld
Protectress of all Wicca
It is my will on this night of the new moon
to love my shadows
and bring about change
I invite you to my circle to assist and protect me in my rite.
Invocation to the God:
(hold athame with your hands in the God position, crossed over your chest)
Great Anubis,
God of Protection
It is my will on this night of the new moon
to love my shadows
to bring about change
I invite you to my circle
to assist me and protect me in my rite.
STATEMENT OF INTENT:
Dark is the night as I reach this turning point
Here is a time of death, yet a time of rebirth.
Endings and beginnings
Ebbings and flowings
A journey done and a journey yet to start.
As the wheel turns, I see birth, death and rebirth
and I know that every end is a beginning.
MEDITATION:
Remember a time in your life when you were miserable, depressed and felt
like you couldn't go on. Let the painful memories overtake you, feeling yourself
weaken and frightened. Put yourself back in that pain-filled time in
your life. As you meditate on that time, sink down the floor and curl up in an
embryonic position. You are completely obsessed by pain and depression. The
shadows around you lengthen and darkness spreads. Then! Arise!
Light your white candle and hold it high overhead. Say:
In darkness, there is light!
I feel energy and life returning to me!
I feel my heartbeat strong
I feel the power of the universe and the power of the
Goddess and God within me.
Pass the candle over your body, tuning in completely with the light, feeling its power heal and protect you. Allow its rays to completely penetrate your being, healing and cleansing you. As you are doing this, chant:
Let the light cast out all darkness
Cakes and wine. Thank the God and Goddess for their presence. Close the circle.

Become Aware of Your Inner Beauty
We don't have to look like fashion models to be beautiful. Society today places way too much emphasis on physical beauty. What makes a person truly beautiful is when they glow with an inner light, when their spirit shines through the physical. This spell will help you to release your own true beauty.
You will need: one pink taper candle, two white taper candles, jasmine or lavender oil, myrrh or rose incense, and your favorite scented body lotion.
Cast a circle around the whole bathroom, if possible. (You may need to tell other family members that you do not want to be disturbed for awhile.) Draw a warm bath, pouring a few drops of oil into the water. Anoint the candles with the oil, from the base, up to the top. Light the candles and incense. Disrobe, and look at yourself in the mirror. DO NOT be critical of yourself. DO NOT point out your "flaws"! Instead just look. Notice things about yourself without judging. Notice that you have two arms, two legs, a torso, breasts, a neck, etc. Look at your face, into your eyes, look at your hair. Again, do not pass judgement upon yourself for anything about your body. Just Look. Observe.
Step into the tub, sinking into the soft, warm water. Splash the water gently over yourself, inhaling the sweet scent. Lie back and close your eyes, and visualize the person you just saw in the mirror. See her standing before you, naked and defenseless. Start focusing on surrounding her with pink, loving light. See this loving light as it grows, gently surrounding her, filling the empty places in her, filling her with love. See this light hugging her, comforting her, warming her. Know that this person before you IS you, and you are being filled with divine love and acceptance. Know that you are important, you are special, you are truly beautiful. And you are completely surrounded with love. Feel this love, this pink light, as it soaks into you, calming you, relaxing you. Know that you are loved, just as you are. Know that you are beautiful, just as you are.
Stay in the tub for as long as you wish, breathing deeply, filling yourself with the pink light of love. Then step out of the tub, pat yourself dry with a soft, fluffy towel, and lather yourself with your favorite scented body lotion. Put on your comfiest outfit, and relax! Do something that you really enjoy, something relaxing. Read a good book, take a nap, take a slow, leisurely walk.
Doing this on a regular basis will help you to accept yourself, to appreciate yourself, and will let your inner beauty out.

Witches Rede of Chivalry
Read about this in the book, 'The Goddess is in the Details' by Deborah Blake where she makes mention of it and four of the sayings. So I just had to look and see if I could find it, and here it is. These are some really cool maxims for life. Hope you all enjoy them.
THE WITCHES' REDE OF CHIVALRY
(Adapted from Rites From The Crystal Well)
Insofar as The Craft Of The Wise is the most ancient and most honourable creed of humankind, it behoves all who would be witches to act in ways that give respect to the Old Gods and Goddesses, to their brothers and sisters of The Craft, and to themselves
Chivalry is a high code of honour, which is of most ancient Pagan origin and must be lived by all who follow the Old Ways.
Know well that thoughts and intent put forth will wax strong on many planes of existence and return, bringing into creation that which has been sent forth. For this reason the adept must exercise discipline over his or her thoughts. Remember, " as you sow, so shall you harvest"
It is only by preparing our minds to be as Gods that we may one day unite with the Godhead.
"This above all ... to thine own self be true..."
A witch's word must have the validity of a signed and witnessed document. It is only by developing such mental discipline that great power may be controlled and directed
It is well to refrain from speaking ill of others for not all truths of the matter may be known
Pass not unverified words about another. For the most part hearsay is a thing of falsehoods
Be honest with others. Have them know that honesty is likewise expected of them
The fury of the moment plays havoc with the truth. Strive always to keep your head
Harm not another. Think always of the consequences of your actions
Dignity, a gracious manner, and a good humour are much to be admired
As a witch you wield much power. Therefore exercise much discretion in its use
Courage and honour endure forever.
Offer friendship only to those worthy of it. To associate with younger souls will only pull you down
Those who follow the mysteries must be above reproach in the eyes of the world
Keep pride in thyself. Seek perfection in body and in mind

Moon Spell for Guidance
Here is a simple but beautiful spell for asking the moon for guidance. Gaze at the moon see its beauty, feel its power call upon it three times with these words:
Mother Moon,
I call on thee.
Hear my voice tonight.
The stars shine around you like jewels very bright.
My path has grown misty
and it's hard to see my way.
Help me, Mother,
to find my path,
So I see what will be.
Shine upon me
with the light that I extol.
Light my path,
and show the way
to my goal.

Self Confidence Spell 3
This seemed like such a cool and wonderful spell I had to include it. Love the Dragons, the runes the chant. Again just seemed wonderful and powerful.
Its purpose is to instill the confidence of a Dragon within the heart and mind of the Caster. It should be performed for the first time near or during the time of the full moon, and later whenever you feel the need for a little extra "boost."
Needed Items: 1) Iron Shavings (or a small iron/steel nail) for strength 2) One each of the following: Citrine (self-determination), Rose Quartz (self-esteem) and Amethyst (courage)... choose small stones 3) A small amount of each of the following: Cinnamon-stick or powder- (personal power), Bay leaf (success) and Catnip (happiness) 4) A 4"x4" black cloth square (black repels negativity) 5) Three feet each of Red, Purple and Orange thread 6) A Gold paint pen or ink pen (recommended for quick drying), or Gold paint and a brush 7) Dragon's Blood oil or Cinnamon essential oil - genuine or "synthetic" (if you use genuine cinnamon oil be careful as it burns if gotten onto sensitive body parts, so be sure to wash your hands afterwards) 8) One Red, Purple and Orange candle 9) Something to carve the candles with 10) Normal altar equipment Perform Clan Circle Casting and Quarter Calls Invite your Dragon friends
The Casting:
Step1: Inscribe the candles with the following words: Red--Strength, Purple--Self-assurance, Orange--Success Anoint each candle with the oil and chant 3 times for each candle:
Dragons of Power, Dragons of Light, Dragons of Wisdom, Dragons of Might! Lend me your magic; Lend me your aid Lend me your guidance as this spell is made! Place the candles in their holders and light.
Step 2: Using the gold paint, draw the following Runes on the black cloth square: Sigel: for strength and self-confidence Lagaz: for increased vitality and life-force Isa: for development of self-will Remember to concentrate fully on the qualities of each Rune. Say those qualities out loud if you want. Set the cloth aside, painted side up, so it can dry.
Step 3: Charge the iron, herbs and crystals according to the indicated qualities by concentrating on each item in turn while chanting:
Dragons of Power, Dragons of Light, Dragons of Wisdom, Dragons of Might! Lend me your magic; Lend me your aid, Lend me your guidance as this spell is made!
Continue chanting until each item "feels" as if it can hold no more energy, then turn the (hopefully dry) cloth square painted side down and place each charged item into the center of the square. Gather the four corners of the cloth together and tie into a bag using the red orange and purple thread.
Step 4: Pass the bag carefully *over* each candle in turn and say:
(Red) Strength (Orange) Success (Purple) Self-assurance
At each utterance visualize Dragon Fire of the corresponding color streaming from those Dragons who have answered your request for assistance and enveloping both the bag and you. "Feel" yourself filling with the strength and confidence of a Dragon.
Repeat the Empowerment Chant until you feel and internal signal to stop, or you "see" the stream of Dragon Fire slowly ease up until it has stopped. Commune with your Dragon friends for a while if you want, then end the ritual. Allow the candles to burn themselves out or down to the socket and hang your talisman bag where it will be the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing you see at night.
Remember to thank all the Dragons for their assistance and bid them safe journey as they return from whence they came. I then recommend "pushing" the Circle energy out to meld with the energies of your house protections... Why waste any remaining confidence-filled energy?

Self Confidence Spell 2
This seemed like another really nice self confidence spell not as simple as the first one but seems like it would be really enjoyable to do.
Sometimes people around us - perhaps a critical relative, a spiteful ex-lover or a thoughtless colleague- can damage our self-esteem. We look at media ideals of loveliness and feel we are far from the image of perfection created by a society that worships youth. But if we can only believe in ourselves and love ourselves, hey presto, we radiate our own unique beauty and others are drawn to us, because
of this powerful but indefinable personal magnetism. This spell is designed to boost that self-belief.
* Around your bathroom, light purple candles, placed safely so that they cast pools of light on the water when you fill the bath.
* Let the water run and then turn off the taps and add five drops of rose essential oil and five of ylangylang, dropping them into the pools of light.
* Place a rose quartz or amethyst crystal in the water to strengthen self-love and approval.
* Lie in the water and swirl the light pools in turn, making an affirmation for each one, for example: I exist, I am unique, lam of worth, I have many gifts [name them], I value myself, Love myself, I am complete in myself, I treasure what I have and what I am, as I am right now.
* Continue to swirl the light, visualising it flowing within you, making you a body of light and loveliness.
* Finally, make a wish for yourself in each light pool.
* When you are ready, wrap yourself in a soft towel or robe and take out the plug, saying: Doubts and sorrow, flow from me, what I wish, I can be.
* Look at yourself in the mirror framed by light and you will see how your inner radiance creates true beauty that cannot fade.
* Carry the candles into your bedroom or living room and spend the rest of the evening reading a special book, listening to music or just dreaming of golden tomorrows as you gaze into the light.

Setting New Moon Intentions
Rituals are a way to mark turning points in your life. They can be used to symbolically welcome changes in your life. They can be simple rituals or elaborate ones. The most important thing is your full presence in the moment.
The new Moon is a magical time of beginnings, when you can recharge goals, or set new ones.
Rituals bring meaning to our lives by "charging" an intention with power. We're always setting intentions, and this is a way to do it in a more conscious way. There is power in coming up with visions for your life, and keeping them in your sights as they come into being. But even as you fully commit to those visions, stay flexible, since new doors may open that you didn't expect. At the new Moon, goals and wishes take root, as you reach out for spiritual wisdom, draw on unseen allies and open the door to magical change. You might get what you ask for, or something even better that you can't imagine yet.
It's important to come up with a ritual that has meaning for you, instead of trying to follow any set guidelines (unless you're part of an established ritual group). You're the one that knows your personal story best, and what to lift out of that narrative, what will infuse your ritual with power. Here are some general guidelines to shape your rituals using the unique symbols and totems from your life.
Gathering your Sacred Supplies Your altar is where you collect your sacred objects -- pictures, found objects and the like. Using herbs with healing or symbolic properties adds to your ritual. Stones and crystals are another powerful ally. Candles are magical, and in its form contains all four of the elements. A small journal on hand allows you to keep a record of your intentions.
Preparing for the Ritual This is the most important part of ritual, since your commitment is the key. Take a ritual bath with sea salt to clear your field of any negative energies. Sage is an herb used by the Native Americans to clear a space, and make it sacred for ritual. It's available in most health food stores these days, and easiest to use in its wand form. Light the end and blow on it until there is a smoldering glow. Use it around your own body, and in the space of your ritual. Clear your mind with meditation, using music or just quieting down in your cleared, sacred area.
Grounding This is something that's important anytime, for staying connected to earth energy. Signs that you're not grounded are mania, nervousness, racing thoughts and the like. Too often we forget to feel the earth under our feet. I've mentioned Starhawk a few times on the site, and her tree grounding excercise is one of my own daily rituals. In a nutshell, it's visualizing the roots going down into the Earth, through the layers, into the core, and then drawing that energy back up through your feet again. It moves through each chakra, coming out the top and down around you. Try this or another variation of grounding before you set new Moon intentions.
Your New Moon Wishes After you've cleared a sacred space and settled your energy, you're ready to set your intentions. Make a list of what you'd like to draw into your life, and Dream Big! The new Moon is a moment to conjure what seems out of reach, and creating the vision is the first step to making it a reality. But these are not just words on paper. As you write them down as intentions, you are committing to doing your part to make them real. Some call it co-creating, since you're opening to universal energies to set dreams in motion.
Dreams of the Soul Your intentions come from the longings that keep coming up. In the days leading up to the new Moon, give some thought to those longings, and see what images, dreams and streams of thought come up. Use symbolic associations to go along with your intentions. Weave in the element for the new Moon, and think about the houses and planets that are affected by it. For an earth new Moon, for example, you might plant seeds that represent your intention. Rituals are a way to work with universal energies, and draw attention to the particular life lessons, or arena (house, planet, etc) that it illuminates for you.
Symbolic Acts Here's where you get to be creative. If your intentions are to write a book, or broadcast your ideas out to the world, tie them to a helium balloon and send them off. Write them on a stick and offer it to the fire. To open to love, put lavender and a rose quartz in a small pouch, along with the qualities you're seeking. If you're inspired, add a symbolic act to your intention-setting ritual.
Keep them Alive A big part of success with new Moon intentions is what comes after. Find ways to keep them in the front of your awareness. Put them in a visible spot, or keep them in your wallet. Make notes in your journal about your progress. At the full Moon , find ways to take action on those intentions, and celebrate any signs of change.

A New Moon Celebration
The following rite is one which welcomes the moon back at the beginning of her cycle. If you're raising children in a Pagan or Wiccan tradition, this can be a lot of fun. It's also a simple ritual that can be performed by a solitary practitioner.
Tips:
1.If you're doing this rite as a family, the eldest female present should light the moon candle.
2.Decorate your altar with silvers and whites to celebrate the return of the moon.
What You Need:
•A moon candle
•A mirror
•Blessing Oil
Here's How:
1.First, if your tradition requires you to cast a circle, do so at this time. If you don't normally cast a circle, take the time to ritually purify the area by smudging or asperging. This will establish the space as sacred.
Perform this ceremony outside if at all possible -- it's the best way to get a good look at the sliver of new moon. You'll need a moon candle, wrapped in a black cloth, to place on your altar. This is traditionally a white unscented pillar-style candle. You'll also need a hand-held mirror. Tie some silver and white ribbons on it if you wish. Finally, have a small bowl of Blessing Oil handy.
2.Hold this ceremony at sunset if you can. Turn to the west, and watch as the sun goes down (without looking directly at it). Once the sun has dropped below the horizon, you'll be able to see where the new moon is rising. If the sun sets before you began, you'll need to look a bit higher in the sky, but you should still be able to find it as long as the night is a clear one.
If you're doing this rite with children, have them each try to be the first one to spot the new moon.
3.Once you see the moon in the sky, unwrap the candle. Hold it up high and say:
Welcome back, Moon!
We're glad to see you again.
Another cycle has passed
another month gone by
and our lives have moved forward.
Place the candle on the altar and light it, still facing the moon. Say:
Today is a new day,
and a new month begins.
As the tides flow, and the moon rises above,
we are thankful that She has returned.
She watches over us, ever constant,
yet always changing,
and we are thankful for her light.4.If you have children present, have them wave to the moon and thank her for returning -- you'd be amazed how silly and fun this simple task can become!
Next, turn to face east, where the sun will rise in the morning. Pick up the mirror and hold it so you can see the new moon behind you. Say:
Bring us your wisdom, your guidance,
your protection, in the coming month.
You are behind me at every step,
watching and guiding me,
and I am thankful.
5.Place the mirror back on the altar, beside the moon candle. Take a moment to reflect on your goals. After all, this is a time of new beginnings, and a good time for new commitments and vows.
Warm the Blessing Oil over the candle for just a moment, and then anoint each others' foreheads. As you do so, say:
May the blessings of the moon be with you.
If you are working alone, anoint your own forehead, and grant yourself the blessings of the moon.
6.When you are ready, close the circle and end the ritual. If you choose, you can move into healing rites or magical workings, or a Cakes & Ale ceremony.

Simple Spell for Pet Healing
My little precious, who looks a lot like this picture, is not feeling well. So I found this spell and I liked the feel of it. So may the Goddess bless this spell for healing. So Mote It Be.
This is pretty basic:
Mix some healing oil, using:
6 drops Lavender oil
6 drops Camphor oil
6 drops Rosemary oil
1/2 ounce base oil (apricot kernel, jojoba, grapeseed, even olive oil)
Annoint a black candle, a red candle and a brown candle with this healing oil. The black is for absorption of the negativity (the illness), the red is for strength and health, and the brown is an "astral" or "significator" candle for the animal. Place the brown candle between the black and red candles, and make a ring of stones around the set-up, using stones or crystals that you associate with healing (amethyst, quartz, agate...you choose whichever type or combination of types). Place some of the oil in your hands, and begin to rub them together, generating heat and energy. When you feel that you've built a small "bundle" of healing energy, place your hands on your pet, stroking it and giving it the healing energy you've built, making sure to concentrate on any areas where you feel or sense the illness. Focus on the candles, continuing to maintain contact with your pet, and visualize the strength from the red candle pouring into the brown candle, and pushing all the sickness into the black candle. Attune with the Goddess, and when you've got a good grip on the visualizations above (and the animal!), say:
"Goddess, with your healing touch
Bless this animal we love so much.
God, with beasts as your domain,
Remove the sickness, heal the pain.
So mote it be!"
Continue the stroking and energy flow until you feel that the spell is done, then allow the animal plenty of time to rest and heal. Obviously, if you wish to perform this spell in a cast circle, that's your choice. If you wish to continue the spell for a number of days (I'd suggest at least 3 days), and your pet has a special place where it rests or "lives" (such as a cage, etc.), ring this area, if possible, with the stones, place a red candle on one side of the area and a black candle on the other (annointed with the healing oil); focus on the red candle and project its energy into area with your pet, visualizing the illness being pushed out the other side, since there's no room for it, and into the black candle. Rub the oil onto your hands and stroke it into/onto the animal's body as often as you feel necessary.
Blessed Be!

Thoughts on Lammas
From a Pagan Book of Prayer:
The door is starting to swing from hot to cold. Although it is still summer, occasionally a cool day comes. The pokeberries are purple, the sasafras is starting to turn, and the gardens are heavy with tomatoes. It is time to stop and pay attention: the spirits of the land are very busy. I pray to them at this liminal time to open my eyes. Don't let me wake one day and ask where summer has gone. May I be aware of its going, and be as thrilled with it as I was with the arrival of spring.
I am spending this Lammas with family, friends, and loved ones in person and in spirit. We will be feasting, crafting and doing some rituals to celebrate this blessed day. Merry Meet, Merry Part and Merry Meet Again. So Mote It Be.
