So today the fifth and final element, possibly the most important, Spirit. I read some where that it is the mixing of spirit with the other four, earth, air, water and fire, that gives them their dynamic, their power. Without spirit to animate them the other four are static and unchanging.
Pagans believe that all things have spirit, not just humans as the Christians believe. We don't call or invoke spirit because it is ever present. Because it is present in all things it has no totems, no specific herbs, animals, or stone, it is in all things. It is represented in the five pointed star, the pentagram, versus the four fold cross of Christianity.
I think that while we may not have to invoke spirit, it is good to be aware of it. To consciously or sub-consciously bring it into all that we do. To add that 'living' spark to our live, our loves, and our magick. So Mote It Be.

Osho Zen Tarot
So here was my one draw Osho Zen Tarot Card for tonight. I could really use some abundance. Also could use some of the balance. Was/am feeling quite sorry for myself this evening. Not entirely sure why. Pity party for one. Oh the difference one card can make. I love these cards and own my own set. Would recommend them to anyone.
Osho Zen Tarot
35. Abundance
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abundance
In the East people have condemned the body, condemned matter, called matter "illusory," maya - it does not really exist, it only appears to exist; it is made of the same stuff as dreams are made of. They denied the world, and that is the reason for the East remaining poor, sick, in starvation.
Half of humanity has been accepting the inner world but denying the outer world. The other half of humanity has been accepting the material world and denying the inner world. Both are half, and no man who is half can be contented. You have to be whole: rich in the body, rich in science; rich in meditation, rich in consciousness. Only a whole person is a holy person, according to me.
I want Zorba and Buddha to meet together. Zorba alone is hollow. His dance has not an eternal significance, it is momentary pleasure. Soon he will be tired of it. Unless you have inexhaustible sources, available to you from the cosmos itself...unless you become existential, you cannot become whole. This is my contribution to humanity: the whole person.
Osho Communism and Zen Fire, Zen Wind Chapter 2
Commentary:
This Dionysian character is the very picture of a whole man, a "Zorba the Buddha" who can drink wine, dance on the beach and sing in the rain, and at the same time enjoy the depths of understanding and wisdom that belong to the sage. In one hand he holds a lotus, showing that he respects and contains within himself the grace of the feminine. His exposed chest (an open heart) and relaxed belly show that he is at home with his masculinity as well, utterly self-contained. The four elements of earth, fire, water and sky all conjunct at the King of Rainbows who sits atop the book of the wisdom of life.
If you are a woman, the King of Rainbows brings the support of your own male energies into your life, a union with the soul mate within. For a man, this card represents a time of breaking through the conventional male stereotypes and allowing the fullness of the whole human being to shine forth.

Day Thirty-One
So today here is some info on the element of air. Thought the pscychiatrists office was an interesting place, not sure I would have associated it with air. Well maybe a lot of hot air. Day Thirty
So I found this cool picture representing the four elements and I thought I would do a little research into them.Though I am not sure which is suposed to represent fire. Neither the deer/stag or the chipmunk seems to have that property. So here is some findings on the element of earth.
Earth; its nature is fertile, nurturing, stable, working, moist, grounding and gravitational.
Rituals associated with it are; prosperity, money, wealth, employment, fertility, growth, and grounding.
Herbs that are associated with this element are; patchouli, mosses, nuts, vetivert, roots, ferns, Evergreens, and sage.
Related places are; gardens, canyons, caves, forests, parks, kitchens, basements, holes, valleys, and mines.
There are many stones that relate to Earth; green stones such as emerald and peridot, or heavy stones such as coal or load stones.
Here are also some animals that share Earth energies; horses, earthworms, ants, beavers, cows, dogs, and burrowing animals such as moles and gophers.
Metals related to this element are; mostly lead and iron, being from the Earth, all metals relate somewhat to the element.
Earth has receptive energy, gathering up and storing as much energy as possible, much like a battery. Other things that relate to this element are; the colors green and brown, the direction of north, the sense of touch, and its' natural symbols are rocks, wheat, salt, soil and acorns.
Astrological signs related to Earth are; Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn.
Finally; some ritual forms associated with Earth are; burying, images in sand or earth, and planting; types of magic are magnet, image, knot, binding, stone, and gardening.
Hope these are helpful to you in your magickal studies I know they will be to me.

Dreaming of Pregnancy
So last night I dreamt I was pregnant. Not only was I pregnant but I announced that I was giving birth to a healthy baby boy. Wait,in the dream I said I would be delivered of a healthy baby boy. Seems significant the way it was worded. So I thought I would go on a search for possible interpretations of dreaming of being pregnant. I can not say I found anything unusual or unexpected. Any ideas out there?
To dream that you are pregnant, symbolizes an aspect of yourself or some aspect of your personal life that is growing and developing. You may not be ready to talk about it or act on it. This may also represent the birth of a new idea, direction, project or goal.
Dreaming of being pregnant may indicate incubating a new project, relationship or cycle within
Manifesting your desire
New life.Creative. Inventive. Prepared to produce something.
A dream about pregnancy can represent responsibility for another person somehow in your life. It may also mean a new project.
It could mean that he has some great responsibility that he has to tend to right now, or that big things/changes will be coming in the future for him.

Day Twenty Nine
So I have been watching re-runs of Nanny and the Professor on Hulu and the words to the theme song keep running through my head. In a good way not that drive you crazy want this song out of my head way. Anyways I had one question about what her name was so I looked it up and thought I would post the words since they seem kinda magical to me. Here is to Love and Magick.
Soft and sweet
Wise and wonderful
Oooh our mystical, magical nanny.
Since the day that nanny came to stay with us
Fantastic things keep happening.
Is there really magic in the things she does
Or is love the only magic thing that nanny brings
You know our nanny showed us you can make the impossible happen.
Nanny told us have a little faith and lots of love
Phoebe Figalilly is a silly name
And so many silly things keep happening
What is this magic thing about nanny
Is it Love? Or is it Magic?

Day Twenty Eight
I thought doing a spell every day would help me learn magick and give me confidence and it has. I am getting the feel for what makes a spell good and not so good. Learning about correspondences, candle colour magick and oils. It seems like so many spells are for the same categories of things. It was seriously difficult to find interesting and different spells to do and some things I looked for I could not find.
So going in a new direction. It was beginning to not feel right to do a spell everyday, especially spells that were so similar to one another. It felt like I was not letting the magick work by doing a similar spell day after day. So not going to focus on doing a new spell every day. Instead I am going to post what feels right. Might be a spell, might be a cool new magical thing I have learnt or a rambling dissertation on my thoughts.
So here is to continued learning and new directions. So Mote It Be.

Day Twenty Seven
So yesterday and today I have done the same spell but for two different reasons. Yesterday had to do with my car insurance today had to do with a judgment on money. So having read somewhere that an orange candle was used in legal spells I lite an orange candle and meditated on the outcome I wanted. I also inscribed on the candle the purpose and outcome and anointed it with High John the Conquerer oil. At the beginning of the meditation I stated the purpose of the meditation. After my meditation time was done I wrote a statement on a piece of paper on the intention and the words So it is written, So it shall be.
It worked. Thank the Goddess. Good news on both issues.

A Word, or Two, of Caution
So I was thinking about how I did this spell to banish debt in my life and that one of those debts I wanted to banish was my car payment. Well since my car was stolen on Saturday I definitely banished the debt. So a word of warning be specific in how you want to banish your debts when using this spell.

Day Twenty Five, Where I have Been
Sorry for being missing in action. Life sorta fell apart. Between a two day migraine and unexpectedly moving my car was stolen. Any magic I have been doing has been in the form of meditation trying to hold myself together. Not really upset about the car but it is a huge inconvenience.
For the new moon I did a meditation with a black candle. I really tried to center myself, to listen to that voice that is my guide. This was on Saturday the same day the car was stolen. I did feel better but not sure I received any message. I just kept hearing this song in my head "Hold on tight to your dreams". So that is what I am trying to do.
I keep thinking about some Buddhist proverb or story I read once about a rice bowl. Something like if you go out begging with a full rice bowl you won't get anything because it is already full but if you go out with an empty rice bowl you will because you are empty and the universe will fill the void/vacuum. So my bowl is definitely empty I am just waiting to be filled. So Mote It Be.

Day Nineteen, Spell Twenty-Two
So here is a little chant that came to me tonight about happiness. Incase you are wondering why the picture of a naked sycamore tree on a happiness spell, simple, they are my favorite kind of tree and to see them makes me feel happy. For this spell I used a pink candle and some sweet smelling incense. Pink because again it makes me feel happy. Repeated the chant nine times, 3 X 3.
From Earth and Air
Fire and Sea
Happiness, happiness come to me.
From North and South
East and West
With Happiness I shall be blest.
Up with the smoke,
As the flame burns,
Happiness, Happiness come to me now
For it is my turn. So Mote It Be.

Day Eighteen, Spell Twenty-One
So for today another spell using cords and knots. I think it is interesting that yesterday I used cord and knots to release the past and today we are using it to find happiness. I did not use pastel cording. I don't like pastel colours so I used colours I do like: Purple, Gold and Black. I don't feel it is necessary to use pastel since they don't give a reason for using pastel and I think you should use colours you like. As always we will see how it goes. Oh use long lengths of cord by the time you braid and start knotting you use it up quickly. So Mote It Be.
Happiness Spell
Take three cords or strings of various, pleasing pastel colors perhaps pink, red, and green and braid them tightly together.
Firmly tie a knot near one end of the braid, thinking of your need for happiness.
Next, tie another knot, and another, until you have tied seven knots. Wear or carry the cord with you until you find happiness.
After that, keep the cord in a safe place, or give to one of the elements burn and scatter the ashes in the ocean or in a stream

Updates on Dream Spell II and Joy Spell
So last night I did the spell again for having prophetic dreams. Felt more into it. Not sure if I had prophetic dreams but I did dream of magick all night. Will do it again tonight and include that I want to remember the dreams!!!
My joy spell candle is still burning for some reason this feels like a good omen. That the spell is really working. I did a modified version again this morning. Did not do the chanting and concentrated on 3 specific wishes. Felt much more in tune with the spell without the chanting.

Day Seventeen, Spell Twenty
So sometimes our present state of distress is caused by the past cluttering up our present. I know that I get so bogged down by kicking myself for things I did in the past that are now seen as mistakes. So I found this spell to help get rid of that negativity.
Banishing Past Sorrows Spell
There are times when our past mistakes and fractured hopes impinge on our present and make us feel low and depressed. This occasional feeling keeps us from realizing our full joy and happiness. We return again and again to the memories of broken promises and our various disappointments. Instead of greeting each new day as a moment of opportunity, our hearts remain stuck in the past. Not to worry, we can banish these sorrows. Gather together paper, a pen, and string. After centering yourself, write your sorrows and broken hopes on to the paper, using precise language. Roll the paper in a tube and tie it with the string, knotting it tighly. Place the tied paper into a burning bowl. Light the paper and chant:
The ties of the past must vanish.
With fire and knot I do banish.
Chant until the paper and string are burned entirely to ash. Gather up all the ashes and bury them in the earth.
This post was written by Gail Wood on May 09, 2006
So I really like this spell, even more than I thought I would. Found it a little harder at first than expected to make my list then thoughts just rolled out of the pen and on to the paper. It also felt really good saying the chant watching it burn and when that last little ember winked out it felt done. So Mote It Be.

Day Sixteen, Spell Nineteen
So here is today's spell for happiness from my friend TwoFeathers over at Gypsy Magic.
You will need:
One large yellow candle
Essential Oil - sweet pea, geranium, or neroli,
Sweet smelling incense
Bottle of bubbles
Blanket
Grassy area to lie upon
Instructions:
Find a soft, grassy place outside and spread a blanket to lie upon. Anoint the yellow candle with the oil. Light your candle and the incense. Visualize the bubbles as your wishes. While on your back, blow the bubbles upward to the heavens. Make a wish that will bring you happiness or will inspire you. Recite the incantation before the bubbles fall back to the earth. With each bubble that touches your skin, that wish will come true.
Incantation:
Tiny wishes falling down,
Dancing softly to the ground,
Touch my skin so I may know,
Happiness is all-aglow.
_______________ is my desire,
Upon this beautiful day.
Tiny bubbles soaring higher,
Grant my wish today.
So mote it be.
source: Spell Castings
So I had to make a few adjustments since it is winter and snowing outside I did this spell inside in my magick/sacred space room. I used tuberose oil since I didn't have any of those recommended. Not sure I saw the point of the candle or the incense especially if I had done this outside. Found it hard to say the incantation, blow bubbles and focus on my wishes. Might try this again in the morning. As always we will see how it goes. So Mote It Be.

Day Fifteen, Spell Eighteen
So this week I have decieded to concentrate on spells for happiness, mine and others. Happiness is such an elusive thing, at least at times it seems so. So amongst this yucky weather we are having a little happiness seems in order. I found this simple chant spell to start things off, by Light Master. Lets see how it goes. So Mote It Be.
"Happiness, I call on you,
Bring with you your magick too.
For I am unhappy, I wish not to be,
Grant me your power
To live in peace and harmony.
So mote it be!"
After you say the spell, draw a pentagram on your power hand (right for a right-handed person, left for a left-handed person) and draw a happy face on your other hand. It doesn't have to be big, just something to represent happiness.

Update on Dream Spell
Okay so the dream spell was kinda cool, but the only dream I actually remember was about being over charged for a hotel room that was more like a hospital room. Seriously I was walking through this hotel looking for the room and it ended up being a bed surrounded by those curtain walls like in a hospital. So then I had to stand in line to complain that I was not paying 150 dollars a night to stay in a room like that. Not sure were the prophecy is in that.

Day Fourteen, Spell Seventeen
Found this spell for having prophetic dreams thought I would give it a try tonight. We will see how it goes and I will let you know in the morning. So Mote It Be.
1 small piece of citrine
Hold the stone firmly between your palms and say:
Stone of wonder, stone of might
Stone that shines deep in the night
Shine into the future deep And bring me visions while I sleep
Continue to hold the stone until you feel a pulsing sensation, and the place it under you pillow, in the case. Prophetic dreams will come!

Day Fourteen, Spell Sixteen
Okay was reading in my Llewellyn last night that in parts of northern Spain they honor women on this day, Feb 5th. So it seemed totally appropriate that I honor all the women in my life today as part of this celebration and the last day of my week of doing spells for others. I have so many women in my life that make my life special. Here's to you.
Need a pink candle and a red candle. I annointed my candles with oil of tuberose but it doesn't say that in the spell book. While the candles are burning you are to chant the following. I chanted this nine times (3 X 3).
Companions, family, and friends,
Let our bond be without end;
Keep our ties of friendship true,
Honor me as I honor you.
So here is to all the women in my life. Thank you for your love, your friendship, and your strength. So Mote It Be.

Day Thirteen, Spell Fifteen
Here is a little banishing spell from TwoFeathers over at Gypsy Magic along with a little info about the tradition in Japan. We had a lot of fun doing this.
In Japan, today is celebrated as Setsubun. A Japanese celebration ritual designed to drive away the evil spirits of winter in preparation for the spring. Home-owners walk through their house scattering beans into the corners to drive out any demons hiding there. The beans are saved and eaten at the first clap of thunder in the spring. Pointed branches graced with sardine heads are placed over doorways to keep the demons from returning.
In temples and shrines through out Japan, purification rituals are performed to expel the sins of the people.
"Oni-wa-soto,
Devils out!
Fuku-wa-uchi,
Good fortune in!"
This cry can be heard in homes and at temples and shrines around the country to mark the end of the old lunar calendar and herald the new. It is also a ritual to drive away evil spirits.
Each temple has its own way of purging evil from the land. Some temples perform spectacular stage battles between the oni (demons) and the defenders of good, while others invite well-known personalities such as sumo wrestlers and actors to scatter roasted soybeans into the crowd. Many temples simply hold services.
The bean throwing, in some cases rather boisterously, represents the sowing of seeds and the new growth that this brings forth. It has become common practice for well-known personalities born under the Chinese zodiacal sign for that year to be invited to throw out beans as a means of soliciting visitors.
This is a great day to do some bean throwing of your own, and working banishing spells, cleansing spells, and ritual bathing. You could even do something as simple as cleaning and then sweeping your house all the while chanting, "Devils out, Good fortune in."

Day Twelve, Spell Fourteen
Before any fire, look into the flames (or flame if using a candle). Visualize the fire bathing you with a glowing protective light. The fire creates a flaming, sphere around you. While visualizing you may chant the following.
Craft the spell in the fire;
Craft it well; Weave it higher
Weave it now of shinning flame
None shall come to hurt of maim
None shall pass this fiery wall
None shall pass, no none at all.
Okay did this spell this morning, repeated the chant nine times (3 X 3). But found it hard to concentrate on my visualization and say the chant. Next time no chanting I think. So Mote It Be.

Day Eleven, Spell Thirteen
Okay I was looking for a spell for clear thinking. To get rid of all that noise that goes on in your head. The negative comments you make to yourself, the condemning voices from the past, that sort of thing. Found one I kinda liked but I tweaked it some.
You will need a silver candle in a holder set on a flat work surface and some silver glitter. With the glitter, draw a counterclockwise spiral around the candle holder. Light the candle and repeat the charm:
We/I release all negative mental chatter today
As this candle burns negativity drifts away
Trapped in glitter and burned away by fire
We/I are/am clear and free that is our/my desire.
I said the chant three times. I opened the circle with the chant I have been using from Gypsy Magic and invited Hecate to join me in this mental cleansing. The spiral of glitter looked so cool while the candle was burning. Here is to a clean mind! So Mote It Be.

Day Eleven, Spell Twelve
Okay here is a spell for Imbolc from Gypsy Magic. I know this is not for others, which is my intention for the week, but I have one I am refining, to use and post later today, just doesn't feel quite done yet.
For this spell you will need a large piece of ice, an icicle, a snowball, or several ice cubes. You'll also need a bowl, and a candle.
Take the ice into your dominant hand (your right if right handed, your left if left handed), hold it over a bowl and think about winter and whatever it is that has been frozen in your own life.
Say, 'This represents the Crone, Lady of Winter, of the time when the land is still and resting. But as winter's thaw begins, so the Lady casts off her robes of stillness and becomes once more the Maiden. Full of movement, like the cool waters of spring, she flows once more to bring life and hope to all the land'.
Now ask the Maiden to bring fire and warmth to your own life so that your energy will flow and your own spring will come. Imagine the frozen places in your life melting just as the ice in your hand is melting.
Place the melting ice into the bowl, say a warm thank-you. Light a small candle and as you do, think about how your life will begin to grow and change.
Once the ice has fully melted, keep the resulting water to put on your favourite plant, either indoors or in the garden. (Please wait until the water has reached a reasonable temperature before you do this.)
~Madame Fortuna
I enjoyed this spell the tangible feeling of the ice in my hand its coldness and then the trickling of water as it began to melt. Twofeathers didn't specify a candle colour but I used green. What represents spring more than green, right? So Mote It Be.

Day Ten, Spell Eleven
So today I did a spell for emotional healing. I figured we all have some emotional healing we could do. This spell was inspired by Gary, after talking with him last night it was so obvious the emotional pain and weight he is caring around with him. It is this emotional baggage that I believe is at the heart of his memory and focus problems. Which got me thinking about other friends and family and their lives. So emotional healing it was. Here is what I used:
1 pink candle
Vanilla essential oil, to sweeten the medicine. I think you could use any sweet smelling oil.
Sweet smelling incense to lift and carry the spell.
I inscribed 'emotional healing' on the candle anointing it with the oil. Lite the incense and opened my circle with the chant I have been using from Gypsy Magic. I then visualized a pink light flowing from the candle out to the room, the world to all of the people I know and love. That this pink light was caring emotional healing with it. I was able to get clear pictures of people and where they were in their day. I just kept focusing on this light until it felt time to release the circle and the magick to the world, asking that it heal without harming. So Mote It Be.
